TRANA moves in the borderland between American folk music, country, americana and the Swedish singer-songwriter tradition. At its core are Maja Bäckman and Jonatan Renström, whose voices meet and intertwine to create an intimate and organic sound.

The duo debuted in spring 2024 with the single Meadow Hills. In 2025 they followed up with the singles By the Birches and Flower, and have since performed live in cities such as Orsa, Falun and Stockholm, as well as some festival gigs during Under bar himmel and Live at Heart in Örebro.

On June 5th, TRANA will release their debut EP, recorded largely live at the legendary Atlantis Studio in Stockholm. The recording captures the band’s strong live presence and the acoustic interplay that has become a central part of their sound. The result is a warm and stripped-back sonic landscape where fiddle, acoustic guitar, bass and drums frame the two voices.

The lyrics stay close to the everyday – exploring the shifting seasons of nature, relationships, and the quiet drama found in life’s smaller moments.
